Matthew Oliver is a Quality Control Manager with City Wide Facility Solutions Edmonton and a Business student at MacEwan University.
In his role, Matthew is responsible for ensuring that services delivered at client facilities meet City Wide’s high standards. He works behind the scenes during evenings and weekends — when many services are performed — to verify that work is completed correctly and consistently.
What Does a Night Manager Do?
Matthew plays a critical role in maintaining service quality by acting as an on-site representative for the client. He regularly visits facilities after hours to:
Because much of the work happens outside of normal business hours, Matthew helps ensure that clients arrive each day to a clean, well-maintained facility.
Representing the Client
One of the key advantages of working with City Wide is that we represent the client — not the contractor. Matthew’s role is central to delivering on that promise. Rather than relying solely on contractor self-reporting, City Wide provides independent quality oversight to ensure services meet expectations.
If something isn’t right, Matthew works with the contractor and the City Wide team to resolve the issue quickly — so clients don’t have to manage it themselves.
Supporting the Full Team
Matthew works closely with both Facility Solutions Managers (FSMs) and independent contractors to ensure services are aligned with client expectations.
Together, the team provides:
This layered approach ensures that every client receives consistent, reliable service backed by active oversight.
Outside of Work
Matthew is currently pursuing a Business degree at MacEwan University, where he is developing the skills and knowledge to support his long-term career in business and operations.
